Introducing: CGFxAmpersand Collaboration!

Dear Friend,

Have you ever encountered a work of art, whether visual, written, or musical, and connected with it in such a strong way that you felt drawn to know the creator of it? For many years this was my experience when seeing products from Ampersand Design Studio popping up all around Kansas City. Their designs were playful, colorful, bold, joyful, and if patterns can feel loving, they qualified. Two main thoughts would enter my mind. First, “I’d like to be friends with these women,” and quickly following, “Wouldn’t those make AMAZING chicken feather designs?”.

A few years ago we invited Carrie and Morgan, the designers and founders of Ampersand, over to our studio for tea. We came together with no expectations, simply a mutual regard for one another as creative women and gratitude for the opportunity to finally meet. By the time they left, the seeds of both collaboration and friendship had been sown.

Over the past year and a half, we have had a fabulous time working together to create a collection including Ampersand-inspired Chicken Footstools as well as original Ampersand artwork—a flourish and fusion of 2D and 3D design.
