THE ORIGINAL CHICKEN FOOTSTOOL
. . . . .
The City Girl Farm is a fiber arts studio creating one-of-a-kind Chicken Footstools, timeless objects for everyday delight.
For over 15 years each chicken has been artfully crafted by our community of artisans, from the hand-turned wooden egg core to the final stitching of their red combs.
The studio releases new flocks of footstools regularly that are available for adoption online. Please view the collection below for Chicken Footstools currently looking for good homes.

Chicken Footstools were inspired by the classic sheep ottomans created by Les Lalannes and designed to function as footstools.
Available in three distinct sizes, they make excellent conversation starters and charming additions to any space.
Base prices start at $385 for Mini Chickens, $1,850 for Chicken Littles, and $2,900 for Big Chickens.
Every Chicken Footstool is lovingly sculpted by hand using natural materials of wool, wood, and bronze. A turned wood egg-shaped core stands on bronze feet, connected to a bronze beak.
Feathers are hand-crafted from wool using traditional fiber art techniques—spinning, knitting, felting—and are sculpted with needle and thread onto our upholstered chicken form.
Each chicken is crowned with a signature red comb and uniquely named and numbered. This process has become affectionately known as the art of chickening.
The City Girl Farm’s community of artisans, collectors, and supporters has grown through various collaborations and engagements over the past 15 years.
From exhibiting at regional art fairs to collaborating with artists around the globe to supporting local non-profit organizations through Chicken Raffles, we are grateful for the special ways the chickens bring people together.
